Kent has worked in the social services arena for nearly 30 years. His experience includes developing and leading accredited social services programs addressing diverse human needs including addiction, homelessness, low-income housing for seniors, trauma, offender reentry, youth services and family reunification. He is currently the Vice President of Community Relations for Novus Medical where he is a lead spokesperson for public relations and media communication. Formerly, he served in the roles of Chief Strategy & Compliance Officer and Executive Director for Novus Detox. Novus Detox offers inpatient medical detox services for adults suffering from substance use disorders.
Prior to moving to Florida Kent served in executive leadership roles for 18 years with Volunteers of America of Indiana. While in Indiana Kent served on the Advisory Council of the Central Indiana Coalition on Aging and on the Board of the Indiana Criminal Justice Association.
He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Ball State University and later received his Master’s Degree in Management from Indiana Wesleyan University. He also completed a two year certified Executive Leadership Program sponsored by the University of Notre Dame – Mendoza College of Business. Kent graduated from the Leadership Pasco Class of 2016.
Kent has served on a number of boards, advisory councils, planning committees and task groups over the years and in a variety of capacities. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Volunteers of America of Florida. He is a member of the Pasco Alliance for Substance Abuse Prevention actively serving the Cannabis Awareness Committee as a Co-Chair and a member of the Prescription Drug Committee. He also serves on the Advisory Council for the Coalition for a Drug Free Southwest Florida.
